Shipping Policy
DELIVERY TERMS (INCOTERMS 2020)
All international deliveries are carried out under Incoterms 2020, unless otherwise agreed in writing. By default, deliveries are made under DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), meaning that all costs, duties, and taxes are handled on behalf of the Customer until delivery at the agreed address.
Other delivery terms may apply if separately agreed:
-
EXW â Customer picks up goods directly from the factory.
-
FCA â Manufacturer hands over to the carrier.
-
CPT/CIP â Carriage paid / Carriage and insurance paid to destination.
-
DAP/DPU â Delivered at place (with or without unloading).
-
DDP â Delivery to Customerâs door, all importation and duties included.
Risk of loss or damage transfers to the Customer in accordance with the agreed Incoterm. For DDP deliveries, risk transfers only at the point of delivery.
FREIGHT COSTS AND INDEXATION
Freight costs are based on rates available at the time of order. Since weeks or months may pass before actual shipment, freight rates may change due to global market conditions (fuel, container prices, port charges, etc.).
-
The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) or other market indicators may be used as a benchmark.
-
If freight costs increase significantly by the time of shipment, the Operator reserves the right to add a surcharge of 10â15% of the freight value.
-
If freight costs decrease significantly, the Customer may be credited up to a maximum of 10% of the freight cost.
This mechanism ensures fair allocation of unpredictable cost changes in international logistics.
DELIVERY SCHEDULES
Delivery schedules are estimates only. The process starts only after:
-
Full payment has been received and cleared,
-
All documents and confirmations have been provided, and
-
Necessary information (e.g. delivery address, importer ID, contact details) has been submitted.
Delays may occur due to third parties (factories, forwarders, customs, ports), weather, strikes, congestion, or other unforeseen events. The Operator is not liable for such delays.
CUSTOMERâS RESPONSIBILITY FOR DELIVERY SITE
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery location meets all requirements for unloading. The Customer does not perform unloading themselves, if not settled other â unloading is carried out by the carrier or Operatorâs arranged equipment.
The Customer must guarantee that:
-
The delivery site is accessible by heavy vehicles (trucks, trailers, low-loaders, HIAB/crane trucks).
-
There is adequate turning space and clearance for vehicles and equipment.
-
Ground conditions are solid, stable, and level â unloading cannot be done on soft ground, steep slopes, or uneven terrain.
-
The driveway or yard is cleared of snow, ice, mud, or other obstructions before delivery.
-
The unloading area is free of obstacles such as fences, wires, trees, vehicles, or debris.
-
Adequate lighting is available if delivery is at dusk/night.
-
Access roads comply with legal restrictions (weight limits, bridge clearances, road width).
-
Any required permits for delivery or use of heavy vehicles are obtained by the Customer.
If unloading cannot be completed because the site is unsuitable, the Customer will be responsible for all additional costs (storage, waiting, redelivery, extra transport).
DELIVERY FAILURES AND FORCE MAJEURE
If delivery cannot be made due to factors attributable to the Customer (e.g. site inaccessible, recipient absent, unpaid charges), all resulting costs are borne by the Customer.
The Operator has the right to postpone or delay delivery in the event of force majeure or logistical disruption (e.g. extreme weather, strikes, traffic jams, port closures, official orders). The Operator is not liable for delays or damages caused by such events.
TRANSPORT DAMAGE AND INSURANCE
The Customer must inspect the goods upon delivery. Any visible damage must be noted immediately on the consignment note or documented with photographs and reported within applicable time limits.
If transport insurance has been arranged by the Operator on behalf of the Customer, claims must follow the Operatorâs instructions. If no insurance has been arranged, all claims are the Customerâs responsibility.
